Camden

Camden is:
- Eric Osterman Guitar
- Brian Zimmerman Drums
- William Seidel Vocals, Guitar
- Ryan Weber Bass
In the summer of 1998, longtime friends and bandmates William Seidel, Ryan Weber and Brian Zimmerman met with Eric Osterman and founded the Milwaukee band Camden. Soon after forming, Camden recorded their first EP with Chris Rosenau (Pele, Collections of Colonies of Bees, Telecognac, and Lumis) in the Spring of 1999 and began touring in support of their self-titled EP with bands such as Pele, The Gloria Record and Antarctica. Soon after, the band recorded a follow up EP called Fall In An Overcoat in the fall and completed several US tours that year. In December of 1999, they recorded the very well received Reel Time Canvas (released on Grand Theft Autum) with Chris Walla (Death Cab for Cutie). Throughout the year 2000, Camden continuously toured with Death Cab For Cutie and then The Promise Ring while headlining a few tours of their own. After recording 4 of the 6 tracks that were to become part of Pieces of Places with Chris Walla in Seattle, Camden suffered a few setbacks- Eric fell in love with a girl he met on the road and quit the band to marry her. The 6 tracks that Camden had recorded before the break-up sat for almost a year before Ed Menacho, Chris Strong and Joe Wigdahl were prompted to form Brilliante Records in order to release the EP and give it the attention they thought that it deserved. Although Camden is officially no longer, William Seidel, Ryan Weber, and Brian Zimmerman continue to write and put out songs together under the name Camden.
Seidel and Weber are also members of one of Brilliante’s favorite groups, Decibully. Check out the Decibully website here, or go to Polyvinyl Records to check out their record.
