Love of Everything

Love of Everything is:
- Bobby Burg Vocals, Guitar
- Drew Wilson
- A multitude of others…
Love of Everything is essentially the solo project of Bobby Burg, an ohio native, libra, and graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago who enjoys three things: music, skateboarding, and art. Love of Everything is at once a one-man band and a band of dozens, as Burg is capable of playing all of the parts himself—and has, and will—but prefers to recruit friends to play toy piano here, or jingle bells there, and flush out the melodies that make up the musical stories of bobby’s life.
Love of Everything was at first a means to an end: Bobby sought to be in a band that was impossible to get kicked out of. He called it Love of Everything, and began writing and recording songs at home onto videotape. He released the first recording, referred to as the Green CDR, in 2000 and began performing locally in Chicago with Matt Clark (Joan of Arc, Pinebender, Rabbit Rabbit) on guitar and then roommate Drew Wilson (guy in white on the cover of the new album) on drums. Eventually, Wilson was kicked out after crying at practice too often, and Burg and Clark adapted Love of Everything as a duo project, with live drum loops and homemade instruments.
Three years, a 16-country spring tour, and three self-released recordings later, Love of Everything has evolved to include a plethora of musicians in the Chicago avant-garde music scene. members of Storm & Stress, Pinebender, Mirah, Rainer Maria, The Race, Euphone, Joan of Arc, Make Believe, Owen, and Shellac have all collaborated with Burg over the past few years, both live and on record. Total Eclipse of the Heart is Love of Everything’s most lavish record yet. The album was actually financed with money awarded to Burg in the form of a painting fellowship: in lieu of new art supplies, Burg and Clark hired Engineer Bob Weston (Sebadoh, Archers of Loaf, etc) for the basic tracking, and constructed a studio in the Clark family’s Glencoe home, which Weston lovingly referred to as “Skokie Castle.” toy piano tracks were recorded on the roof, acoustic guitar was recorded in the wooden library, and the band utilized reverberations in the stone stairwell to capture drum sounds.
Total Eclipse of the Heart was released on January 27th, 2005 on Brilliante Records- as Bobby says, “It will melt your mind.”
Bobby has since released other Love of Everything on Record Label Records, Redder Records, and also plays in the bands Make Believe and Chin Up Chin Up.
